The Butterfly Mark @ Studio Tondini

In a world rife with tokenistic gestures and claims of perfection it is difficult to spot the real thing.
The Butterfly Mark of Positive Luxury makes it possible to know who is making an impact that can be trusted.

Positive Luxury awards the Butterfly Mark only to high-end brands meeting higher and higher standards for people and nature.

Studio Tondini is one of those real changemakers: a brand independently certified as taking serious, sustained positive action.

Il nostro lavoro con

To earn the Butterfly Mark, we had to pass an expert-led, independent assessment that covers all areas of sustainability.

This assessment is built on the foundation of international agreements, global frameworks and standards, and even potential upcoming legislation.

We had to provide evidence of the change that Studio Tondini is making across a vast range of sustainability issues, including our impact on things like climate, nature and water (Environment), how we treat our workers and communities (Social), as well as how responsibly and ethically we manage our business (Governance).

Studio Tondini is proud to announce that we passed the assessment with a very high score.

But we are not stopping here: our commitment with Positive Luxury means that we will strive to continually improve our performance.

Therefore, every two years, we will re-certify to an even higher standard.

Focus: Climate

While we already operate through a short supply chain entirely in Italy (except Piñatex®), we acknowledge the critical importance of understanding our carbon footprint and setting reduction targets for carbon emissions. In response, we developed a Climate Action Policy outlining steps for measuring and reducing emissions across our value chain. This policy follows a plan-act-check-and-correct approach, covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and selected Scope 3 emissions. The initial focus is on key products, ensuring targeted efforts in reducing the most impactful areas.

Focus: People Management

We developed a comprehensive Employee Handbook, along with a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I), and a Human Rights policy. These policies establish clear guidelines while providing employees with valuable insights into the company’s core values and our distinctive ESG approach. This ensures that, as our business grows, it fosters an environment where all employees feel respected, valued, and empowered, setting a strong example in corporate responsibility.

Governance LPI

Focus: SDGs Alignment - Sustainable procurement

We identified the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) most relevant to our core activities towards sustainable growth in line with the 2030 Agenda. To support Goal 12, Ensure Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns, we are looking to offer repair and rental services, eliminate entirely plastics (now already strictly limited) from packaging, and introduce at least five new materials with increased sustainability characteristics, such as recyclability.

We additionally established clear sourcing KPIs to enhance our sustainable sourcing strategy when acquiring new suppliers and developed a comprehensive Supplier Code of Conduct. By setting measurable standards, we align our sourcing decisions with our sustainability goals, promoting transparency and accountability within our supply chain.
